Initiatives of SURPA
About Our Annual Events:
Spring Reception
Over the past two decades the annual SURPA Spring Reception has weaved together thousands of urban planners, city builders, students, politicians, and changemakers in fundraising for undergraduate, masters, and justice-deserving endowment funds, scholarships, and awards. The Spring Reception is our largest fundraising event each year!
After Meeting Networking Socials
Over the past two decades SURPA meetings have ended in a networking social at a locally owned pub. Help us determine our new location this year!
Sports Networking Socials
Over the many years SURPA has hosted social networking opportunities supporting local sports teams, or participating in a sport of the committees choosing ie; curling, soccer, and volleyball.
Bike Tour
Over the past five years since the pandemic, SURPA has hosted numerous bike tours in collaboration with key alumni, city builders, the undergraduate and graduate course unions at the School of Urban and Regional Planning.
Celebrating BIPOC Excellence!
Since 2025, SURPA started a new annual event of celebrating our Black and Indigenous alumni and students.
